Caring for your jewelry

Care is needed when cleaning your B my Brillionaire jewellery and a little rub with a anti tarnish jewellery polishing cloth (an impregnated cloth that renews the sparkle on silver, gold, platinum, diamonds, sapphires and rubies.) will keep it looking its best.

If your jewellery does become tarnished, we recommend you follow these simple steps:

Place the jewellery in silver dip cleaner for a maximum of 5 seconds. Remove and rinse carefully in clean, lukewarm water.  Dry carefully with a soft hand towel. Rub polished areas with anti-tarnish polishing cloth. Areas with a matt finish should only be lightly wiped, very occasionally, otherwise the matt effect will be lost.

Do not use the jewelry dip cleaner:

  • when your jewelry is antiqued because the aging mass is released by the liquid

  • when your jewelry is decoreted by stones. First clean them with the impregnated cloth and after use a soft, wet cloth

  • for all kind of enamel and glass surface

After every time you wear a piece, polish it with the silver cloth.  Then wrap your jewellery in the anti-tarnish tissue paper it came packaged in. This will keep your jewellery clean whilst you are not wearing it, and it will be in good condition for wearing on the next occasion.

Jewellery should be the last thing you put on and the first thing to come off, to avoid snagging on clothes.

Avoid contact with deodorant, perfume, creams etc. as they can tarnish your jewellery.

  • Do not wear your jewellery when swimming or bathing.

  • Do not wear jewellery in bed as chains and especially neck wires can become kinked easily.

Silver dip is available from most jewellers, some hardware stores or our showroom.

Care of your Neckwires

Flexible neckwires (silver and gold) are not as robust as chains and need to be handled with care.

Whilst neckwires are flexible, they have a limit and bending them too far may result in permanent loss of shape. Any rough treatment will also cause damage. We recommend that both neckwires and chain pendants are removed prior going to bed to limit any unecessary stress on catches and chain links.

It is always advisable to check catches on wires and chains are secure before wearing, to ensure they have not been pulled open accidentally when worn previously.

Regularly give your neckwire a careful wipe with a jewellery cleaning cloth. This will keep it clean and free of tarnish and oils that can build up with daily wear.

We hope this information will ensure you enjoy wearing your jewellery whilst keeping it in the best condition.
